Something fishy is going on here…. I noticed an artist was up by 5 points at around 8:57 a.m. EST the suddenly a competing artist’s votes jumped up 15 votes and the polls were immediately closed. Makes one wonder about http://song.cat/

We try to be punctual about changing over the blog around 9 AM EST but we don’t monkey with the votes or play favorites. If it is indeed true, we’re going to have to keep a better eye on tracking people who vote multiple times by spoofing the system. Are you saying that “Be A Nice Night” Orelius III should have won again today?
We’ll go back and look at this and see what happened. If that’s the case, we’ll put it back up on Monday.
Hey Mike, Not saying that “Be A Nice Night” should have won. But after I cast my vote the competition was down by 5 votes and upon refreshing my page with two minutes the competition was up by 10. It just didn’t make sense.

sarcasm aside, sorry about that, I know that many of Marina’s fans sent out e-mails to their distribution lists last night and this morning. Maybe that explains a boom.

I sent out e-mails to all my friends late last night to listen to her song, I love it. And still wishing she will make it back to Colorado again. Way to go Marina.
Yeah Sarcasm aside…. Its funny how Nick can speak for most of Marina’s fans on behalf of what they sent out…. Sarcasm aside.
As someone who’s been following this site and voting daily on my fav song of any artist it was out of the ordinary to see one with such a big fan base as Marina’s. Most of these artists are not signed and looking for exposure. There’s no rules here to posting your song but contests like American Idol have rules about artists who are signed or were recently signed for a good reason. Marina’s song is really good, I’m not trying to take away from that.

Well the only person to make it to the wall of fame amazingly beat the second place finisher by about 100 votes everyday. It’s amazing in that she was able to get that amount of people to vote on her behalf no matter what the second place finisher had. There’s no way to prove it really but there’s NO WAY someone could consistently win by that spread each day.

I realize you don’t know me and know nothing about my character, but I want to reassure you that cheating at a little internet competition is nothing I would ever need or have the desire to do. I sent out daily emails to all my friends who then forwarded them to their friends in order to get my song heard by a lot of people. My song since winning has continued to receive daily plays. As a musician whose goal is to get my song HEARD this was a great format for that. The added benefit of being on Song Cat’s WALL OF FAME is a means to and end and nothing more for me.
