The song reminds me of the Gin Blossoms but it lacks raw emotion in the vocal performance. I myself would write a bridge verse after the second verse instead of the instrumental break, then put a lot more into the final chorus.
Somehow my posts are being associated with the wrong songs. This is for One Floor Down….I wanted a bit more out of this song. It seemed to be going for a Jeff Lynn type of sound with the vox FX, but lacked the dynamics of an ELO production. From the beginning I was thinking maybe there was some hope of it turning into a power ballad a la Asia, but the power never quite materialized. The Harrison style slide lead did not work for me.
